Finisterre is an italian group born in 1993. Their music is a crossover of different styles like Rock, Prog, Electronic, Classical, Jazz, Folk, Ambient, Contemporary and Minimalism

Finisterre recorded ( for now ) 3 studio and 2 live CDs

Finisterre had played live in concert in Italy, France, Spain, USA and Mexico.

Finistere's works are very acclaimed by the critycs and by the people. Their CDs sell very well and had all very good rewievs. The group is well-know like one of the most important progressive group coming from Italy

STEFANO MARELLI. guitars, vocals

BORIS VALLE. piano, electronic keyboards 

FABIO ZUFFANTI. bass, bass pedals, choirs

AGOSTINO MACOR. synthetisers, mellotron, organ, choirs

 

This is Finisterre's history from 1993 to our days

 

1993

April: the group is born and is composed by Fabio Zuffanti ( bass, vocals ), Stefano Marelli ( guitars, vocals ), Boris Valle ( keys ), Marco Cavani ( drums ) and Sergio Grazia ( Flute )

June / September: Concerts in Liguria

 

1994

January: Recording of the first demo tape with 2 songs ( Asia and Cantoantico )

June: Finisterre signed a contract with indipendent italian label Mellow Records and record the first CD

 

1995

January: The first cd is out and it's called "Finisterre"

March / September: Concerts in Italy

October: Cavani and Grazia left the group replaced by Francesca Biagini ( Flute ) and Marcello Mazzocchi ( drums )

 

1996

january: Recording of the second CD

June: The second cd is out and it's called "In Limine"

June / September: Concerts in Italy

October: Francesca Biagini left the group

 

1997

January: Marcello Mazzocchi left the group replaced by Andrea Orlando

March / July: Concerts in Italy and French

August: Finisterre played in North Carolina ( USA ) at Progday 1997 with Sergio Grazia ( the flute player of the first CD ) as guest musician

September: A live CD ( recorded during the Italian and French concerts ) is out. The CD is entitled "Ai margini della terra fertile"

 

1998

June: Finisterre signed for a new Italian label called Iridea Records and recorded the new cd under the direction of the important Italian producer Roberto Colombo

August: Concerts in French

 

1999

January: The new CD entitled "In ogni luogo" is out

May / June: Concerts in Italy

September: Boris Valle left temporary the group replaced by Agostino Macor

 

2000

Febraury / june: Concerts in Italy and Spain

July: Leonardo Palkovic, director of the American Label Moonjune Records became Finisterre's International Manager

September: Finisterre are joined by singer Raffaella Callea

December: The "Live at Progday 1997" CD on a limited edition ( 500 copies )is out for Proglodite records

 

2001

Febraury / March: Finisterre make a 10 dates tour in Mexico

March: The reissue of the Live at Porgday 1997 is out for Moonjune records with a new title: "Storybook"

September: Finisterre stop temporary their musical activities and their components works separately in other projects. Orlando and Callea left the group 

 

2002

January: A new double-CD compilation of rarities and live numbers entitled "Harmony of the spheres" come out for Mellow records

Settembre: Finisterre start again working togheter. The group is re-joined by Boris Valle and by first dummer Marco Cavani 

October: Reunion concert in Milan

November: Finisterre starts working on some new composition for the next studio CD

 

2003

January / July: Hard work to compose and arrange the new songs

July: Finiterre joins Immaginifica label

September/December: Recordings of the new CD

 

2004

January / April: Recordings of the new cd

November: The new cd "La meccanica naturale" comes out. The cd is produced by Franz Di Cioccio for his label Immaginifica

 

2005

January / September: Concerts in Italy and Belgium
